Being and Healing: The Abiding Anchor

“Grounded in the present, surrendered to the Source.”

Introduction: Beyond the Morning Dread

For many, the first moments of the day are shadowed by a visceral sense of dread or despair—the heavy weight of needing to face another day. This “morning dread” is often a physiological state where the nervous system is stuck in a trauma-loop of high arousal or freeze.

Being and Healing is a somatic and relational practice designed to rebalance the nervous system, move toward spiritual and physical healing, and foster deep emotional well-being. By moving from a solitary struggle into a shared presence, we find the relief of Unitive Awareness.

The “What”: A Relational Anchor

Unlike self-directed meditations that place the burden of “feeling better” on your own shoulders, this protocol uses a Wisdom Figure (Jesus) as a relational anchor. This shift achieves several mechanical benefits:

  • Externalizing the Source: You are no longer solely responsible for generating your own peace; it becomes a partnership that reduces performance anxiety.
  • Vagal Resonance: Vocalizing sacred phrases stimulates the vagus nerve, signaling the body to move into a state of “rest and digest”.
  • Attachment Safety: Addressing a Wisdom Figure activates the brain’s caregiving systems, making the intention feel protected and loved.

The “Why”: Somatic Soul Restoration

We cannot heal a system we haven’t first inhabited. By starting with Being, we ground ourselves in the body and the present moment. Only then do we set the intention for Healing, allowing the vibrational shift to take place through our voice and hands. Finally, we “Let God” by resting in a state where the “doing” personality disappears into the “being” presence.

The Practice: How to Abide

Perform this sequence upon waking to break the cycle of dread:

  1. Being (Grounding): Place your right hand on your lower abdomen (ground) and your left hand on the top of your head (crown). Breathe into the touch. Affirm: “Jesus abiding.”
  2. Healing (Intention): Speak the name “Jesus” out loud at a volume you can feel vibrating between your hands. Use “Choice and Trust” phrases like: “Jesus healing” or “Jesus loving.”
  3. Resting (Letting Go): Go silent. Notice the world quieting down. Affirm: “Jesus and I are one.” Let the day’s burdens disappear into this shared presence.

Summary: The Relief of Oneness

This practice is a practical, somatic tool for anyone familiar with MBSR, IFS, or long-term meditation. It moves us from Self-Talk to Shared-Talk, refining the personality into a clear window for peace. You are not losing yourself; you are finding the part of you that is eternal and unshakable.
